Following a meeting on Thursday 16 October 2025, South East Lancashire CRP has successfully received reaccreditation for another year. The meeting was overseen by Ian Davis (Community Rail Support and Development Officer for the North of England) and Owain Roberts (Northern).
Accreditation is administered by The Community Rail Network on behalf of the Department for Transport. It is designed to formally recognise that a CRP is operating to a high standard, with a collaborative community-focused approach and government-recognised activities and objectives.
The meeting explored the work of the CRP over the last year, with highlighted successes including Bolton Station becoming a ‘Station of Sanctuary’ (with City of Sanctuary), the ‘Beacons of Bolton’ project and community art murals at Wigan North Western Station (all featured on the ‘News’ section of this website). South East Lancashire CRP’s community impact was noted, forging lasting creative and working relationships to boost civic pride, awareness of rail travel and promote connection.
South East Lancashire CRP would like to give thanks to all involved in the reaccreditation process and look forward to another year of projects and initiatives.
